Ours is a love story. A love for each other, our family, and a love for hospitality.
MILA owners, Jay & Liz Curcio, met over a decade ago through a client of The White Apron. Jay had founded The White Apron in 2004 out of his own kitchen. By 2011, The White Apron was catering weddings all along the NH seacoast yet struggling with growing pains. Liz, an event planner, and chef by training, was living in NYC and helping her best friend plan her wedding in NH, which The White Apron happened to be catering.
Story
Impeccable service in a classically elegant setting
When Liz and Jay met sparks flew. They eventually joined forces to grow The White Apron into a premiere off-premise catering business, with events throughout Maine, Northern Massachusetts, New Hampshire and the Lakes Region. With ingenuity and the hard work of its talented staff, The White Apron has not only survived the pandemic, it continues to elevate its food and service as its clientele grows.
Despite the success of the off-premise business, Jay and Liz shared the dream of opening an event venue where they could create wonderful experiences for their clients, year-round and without the limitations of an off-site kitchen. That dream has finally become a reality.
The venue is named “MILA”, (short for Milagros) after Liz’s grandmother. Mila was a very wise woman who was ahead of her time. An entrepreneur who, together with Liz’s grandfather, operated a very successful bakery for over 50 years, Mila was a smart, tough, hard-working and hospitable woman who loved her family and community. She passed along invaluable life lessons, traditions and love.
MILA by The White Apron honors Mila’s spirit and offers a space where our guests feel welcome and seen. Our foundation is always a delicious menu and impeccable service in a classically elegant setting.
